A Rock Hill man now faces murder charges following a shooting on Robinson Street over the weekend.
Police say Carl White, Jr. shot and killed Sherece Robinson Saturday night, then fled with the couple’s two-year-old son, launching a region-wide AMBER Alert. A truck driver in Aiken County spotted the suspect’s vehicle and notified local authorities.
Rock Hill Police Spokesman Lt. Brad Redfearn explained:
Our detectives went to the location down in Aiken and interviewed Mr. White. At that time he gave a full confession of exactly what happened and why it happened.
Police have not yet said publicly what the motive was behind the murder, but the two were involved in a verbal argument before the fatal shooting. Authorities say the child will be turned over to a family member.
The incident remains under investigation. White also faces charges of child endangerment and driving under the influence.
