A portion of Interstate-26 that runs through the Lowcountry was shut down for six hours this morning after a drive-by shooting left one dead. North Charleston police say 40-year-old Maurice Youngblood of Charleston was shot and killed while entering the interstate, resulting in a collision.
The eastbound lanes of the interstate were completely shutdown for six hours, causing a traffic nightmare for the entire morning. An investigation continues on the details of the shooting.
The Charleston County Coroner’s Office believes Youngblood died from the gunshot wounds, before the wreck, but an autopsy to confirm those facts will happen later today.
