The state Senate today reached an uneasy agreement on the starting point for Congressional redistricting debate. The Senate Judiciary plan, instead of the House plan, reached a 19-19, and Lt. Gov. Ken Ard broke the tie to make it the working template.
The Senate began taking up amendments to the plan below.
The plan is contentious because it splits Spartanburg County and puts the new 7th Congressional District in the Pee Dee.
The Senate has another week left in the extended session.
