The Confederate submarine, The Hunley, is upright for the first time since she sank to the bottom of the ocean in 1864. The world’s first successful combat submarine and the eight-man crew disappeared after sinking the USS Housatonic near Charleston Harbor.
The vessel was recovered in 2000, and sat at a 45-degree angle until now. The painstaking process can be seen here:

Now the submarine can be studied and restored after the painstaking process to move the fragile artifact. The team spent two years planning the rotation and tested various simulations in advance on a 3D model.
