And that would not be a good thing, says 1st District Congressman Tim Scott.
We do not want the Obama Administration and his federal appointees drawing congressional lines in South Carolina. And, if we do not find our House and Senate on the same page, they will be turning over to the Justice Department and the federal courts the ability to draw and it would be a travesty for the people of South Carolina.
Scott says it seems like politics have taken over, disregarding the people in some ways.
There are certainly different factions that everybody seems to enjoy the spotlight and looking for a way to draw a district to a way of their own liking which is somewhat unfortunate, but we’ll see how it all plays out.
Scott says looking forward–
I’m very hopeful that our Statehouse and our state Senate will find themselves on the same page whatever they come up with. Let it be in the best interest of the people and we can all live with the consequences of that.
Congressman Tim Scott represents part of the Lowcountry-which is likely to be affected by the redrawing of congressional maps.
