After finally hammering out a compromise deal that ended in the raising of the debt ceiling, Congress is officially taking a recess until September 5. However freshmen 1st District Congressman Tim Scott is learning the unofficial work continues as he begins a series of appearances and meetings to check the pulse of the constituents in his district. Scott says that is the life of a U.S. Congressman.
Scott says Monday he is beginning a weeklong tour of manufacturing plants located in his district and that his schedule is nonstop, but he is well aware of what he signed up for as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. Scott says he does plan to carve out a few days on his calendar for some rest and relaxation.
