Newt Gingrich announced Wednesday a new campaign tactic called “Team 10,” is a grassroots effort for citizens to generate ideas on Facebook to “shift power away from the Washington, DC bureaucracy back home to the people.”
“Washington’s ‘I know better than you’ mentality is killing jobs,” said Gingrich in a press release. “If you’re a doctor, this is how you must care for your patients, if you are a contractor this is the way you must hammer a nail, if you’re a tech-start up here is your tax bill. It’s not working, not for our economy and not for our citizens – so we’re going to fix it, together.”
In South Carolina, Gingrich has tapped conservative political activist Elisabet Farnsworth Wilson of Simpsonville to help lead Team 10.”
According to the campaign, Tea Party and 912 Project leaders from around the country are leading Team 10. Through Facebook, the Team is soliciting ideas on how to enforce the 10th Amendment and limit government in Washington and best of these ideas will eventually become a “10th Amendment Enforcement Act.” which would become part of Gingrich’s new Contract with America.
