Wachovia banks in South Carolina will soon switch over to a new name.
The branches will officially become Wells Fargo locations on September 17, according to the company’s website. Wells Fargo bought the Charlotte bank nearly three years ago as Wachovia neared financial collapse.
The 17th is a Saturday, so those branches not open on weekends will make the switch the following Monday. Wachovia has over 100 locations across the state.
Maryland and the District of Columbia will also make the switch on the 17th. North Carolina will change over in mid-October. Wells Fargo has converted the banks in 18 states so far.
Wells Fargo is based in San Francisco.
