Senator Jim DeMint is not the only South Carolina politician who spends time vetting GOP presidential candidates. State Treasurer Curtis Loftis says he has spent significant time talking one-on-one to them all.
The SC Treasurer was recently interviewed by Anne Eller of South Carolina Radio Network affiliate WLMA in Greenwood. He discussed visits with presidential candidates (“They are different people in private”), his opinion of leadership of the SC Budget and Control Board (“With Marcia coming in now, it’s going to be a great thing”), the hazards of calling for transparency (“They already go through my mail, they go through my trash…”), and other issues.
