Most University of South Carolina workers are now eligible for merit-based bonuses, according to the college’s president. USC President Harris Pastides says the one-time 1.5 percent increase isn’t enough. He says his hopes are for these merit-based bonuses, that should appear on employee checks by October 31, are a statement of the university’s committment to each worker. The only employees eligible for the bonuses are those who make $100,000 and under.
Last month, Clemson University professors were also told they could get up to a 6 percent raise. Clemson’s raises for employees will average about 2.2 percent this fall.
