Sunday is the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, and one Charleston store owner says flag sales are up during this time. Although it’s been 10 years, American Flags and Flag Poles in Mt. Pleasant owner Bob Boyles says flags are flying off the shelves.
“Patriotism is a huge thing. People are still very patriotic. I think that jumped big after the initial 9/11 attack, and it seems to rise every year again. I get a lot of people that are very patriotic and very interested in 9/11, from a patriotic point-of-view,” says Boyles.
Boyles says many customers in his store realize patriotism is even beyond 9/11.
“And, of course there’s people that are well aware that we still have people fighting in foreign countries as a result of the events,” says Boyles.
Boyles spoke with ABC News 4 in Charleston.
