1st District Congressman Tim Scott has held town hall meetings in his district for several GOP presidential hopefuls. So far, the congressman says:
“They have gone really well. We have had an opportunity to get every presidential candidate that we have called on to town. Since 1980, we consistently elect and nominate the right Republican to be the right nominee, so they all have a personal interest to do these town halls and they’ve worked out really well.” says Scott.
Former Godfather’s Pizza CEO and GOP contender Herman Cain was at Daniel Island School in Charleston Saturday for one of Scott’s town halls. The congressman says it was a huge success and he’s ready for the next one.
“We had about 500 people on Saturday in Berkeley County for Herman Cain. Fantastic! Mitt Romney says he’s coming in about two weeks once we get the date certain.” says Scott.
At the meeting, Cain promoted his “9-9-9” economic plan that he says will “put fuel in that engine” and throw out the current tax code.
