“It’s a great day in Orangeburg County!” That’s the slogan on a group of orange balloons at a major jobs announcement in Orangeburg. Universal Trade Solutions says it will create 50 new jobs–and eventually 100 jobs within the next five years.
Governor Nikki Haley joined the Orangeburg County Development Commission, Democratic Senator John Matthews of Bowman, Orangeburg Mayor Paul Miller and Universal Trade Solutions officials for the new manufacturing and distribution jobs announcement.
The group says the new project will increase the strong presence in the state’s metal industry–also benefiting the Port of Charleston. UTS specializes in transloading, storage, packaging and transportation of heavy products. Norfolk Southern railways, one of the two major railways into the Charleston port, also services UTS.
