Kroger Co. has recalled select containers of Private Selection Extreme Moose Tracks Ice Cream. Only ten states, including South Carolina, sell this specific Moose Tracks ice cream at Kroger stores. The reason for the recall: some of the containers may contain peanuts that were not listed on the label.
The recall is in effect because some buyers may have an allergy to peanuts, and if the ice cream is consumed–it could be serious or life threatening. For someone with no allergic reaction to peanuts there are no safety issues with the product.
The carton of Moose Tracks that may contain the peanuts have a sell by date of June 18, 2012.
Anyone who has bought the ice cream should just return it to the store for a full refund or replacement.
