A Rock Hill woman faces several charges after officers say she gave her underaged son so much alcohol that he had to go to a nearby hospital.
The boy’s father called Rock Hill police after he received a call from his 13-year-old son, who was staying at his mother’s house Saturday. The father said his son told him he was drunk and that Julie West, 28, had provided the alcohol.
Officers responding to the call found West intoxicated and the son asleep. The police report said officers then found two other boys, ages 13 and 6, also asleep. An infant was asleep in the other room. The report said it took the officers five minutes to wake one of the teens, and that his eyes were glassy and bloodshot.
The second teen told officers they’d been drinking at the home. Her son was taken to Piedmont Medical Center based on his “extreme level of intoxication,” according to the report.
West was charged with unlawful conduct towards a child. She was also charged with drug violations after the police found Xanax in her home for which she did not have a prescription.
The other boys were released to their father.
