After a game changing victory in South Carolina, Newt Gingrich thanked supporters for helping him erase a double digit deficit in the polls to knock off Mitt Romney. Gingrich told supporters, “it was very humbling and very sobering to have so many people who so deeply want their country to get back on the right track.”
Gingrich rode a wave of support from the state’s strong conservative base, especially in the Upstate counties.
