A Boiling Springs man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after he admitted stealing over $290,000 from his former employer.
62-year-old Daniel L. Belcher pleaded guilty to breach of trust Friday, according to the Seventh Circuit Solicitor’s Office. Belcher admitted taking the money from Shipper’s Supply of Spartanburg between 2003 and 2011 while working as the office manager. Belcher wrote multiple unauthorized checks on the company account and paid himself unauthorized raises.
He also made numerous unauthorized charges on the company credit card and he used company money to pay his personal credit card bills. Belcher also failed to deduct the correct health insurance premium from his own paycheck.
Belcher is a former pastor at Chesnee Wesleyan Church in Spartanburg County. He did not have a previous criminal record.
