A Union County man is facing charges after police say he brought a pipe bomb into an Upstate hospital.
Jeffrey Rash, 51, admitted himself to Wallace Thomson Hospital Wednesday.
Nurses became suspicious and notified security after Rash became agitated.
A security guard then found a pipe bomb in Rash’s bag.
Police say several other pipe bombs were also found at Rash’s home.
The devices were destroyed at the Union County Firing Range.
Bomb sniffing dogs swept the hospital as a precaution.
Union County Sheriff David Taylor says they feel the building is secure.
