Pilots from the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort will begin three nights of training exercises tonight.
The Associated Press reports the exercises will include noisy take-offs and landings.
A Marine Corps spokesman says the training will last until Thursday night this week and will continue on the same nights next week and during the second week in June.
The practice landings, which are louder than usual training, mimic the short bursts of speed made by planes landing on aircraft carriers at sea.
The landings will prepare pilots for an upcoming deployment.
Marine leaders are asking for the community’s support and patience during the exercises.
