The Food and Drug Administration has announced the recall of a pasta salad mix sold at BI-LO grocery stores in the Carolinas.
The recall covers Southern Home brand Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad Mix and Southern Home brand Creamy Parmesan Pasta Salad Mix because certain packages could contain small metal fragments. The salad mixes are freeze-dried kits to make different flavored pasta salads.
They were sold at BI-LO stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee. The recall is a voluntary one announced by BI-LO, which is headquartered in Mauldin. In an announcement Friday, the company said it was not aware of any issues or complaints about the product from customers.
Anyone who bought the mixes is urged to throw them out or return them to the store for a refund.
