A former City of Columbia employee has been charged with burglary for stealing several weapons.
Columbia Police said they have arrested 23-year-old Orlando Kendall Reeves for an August 4 break-in. They say Reeves kicked in the door of a home and stole firearms from two safes.
The victim told police that the safe contained approximately 30 weapons worth nearly $50,000. The victim said the guns were used for hunting.
Prior to his arrest, Reeves was a Columbia park ranger under the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.
Police said that a witness at the scene aided officers by providing the license plate of the vehicle Reeves was driving as he fled the scene.
