There is very little to show as the search for two missing Catawba County, North Carolina teenagers continues.
18-year-old Jake Ziegler and 17-year-old Ray Pierce have been missing since they told friends they were driving to Myrtle Beach to watch the sunrise on October 13. Most of the search is focused in Fairfield County, where a cell phone signal was last detected on Interstate 77 near the town of Winnsboro in the early hours of that Saturday morning. Fairfield County deputies said all the information investigators have gathered lead them to believe the teens crashed along I-77.
On a Facebook site dedicated to finding the pair, family members said they continue to monitor the teens’ cell phone and social media accounts for any activity.
Seven different law enforcement agencies have been involved in the search for the boys. The search moved slightly north Tuesday, closer to Great Falls in Chester County. However, investigators say they have no new leads this week. There had been an earlier report that a store clerk in Myrtle Beach thought she saw the boys, but investigators said security video from the store did not show the missing teens.
Investigators say the pair was driving a green 2006 Pontiac G-6 with North Carolina license plate BDD-8844.
