Newly installed U.S. Senator Tim Scott says he will visit every county in the state in the coming months as part of a statewide listening tour. As a congressman, Scott employed such tours and town hall settings in the 1st District.
Scott began with the Columbia Rotary Club on Monday.
He told about 300 Midlands Rotarians that the next important fiscal issue on Capitol Hill is curtailing federal spending — and it is a conversation that must include the American people.
“We’re going to have to make some difficult decisions on how we come together on common ground and build a better economy by keeping the money in the hands of the families more than the hands of the federal government, ” Scott said.
