The condition of Governor Nikki Haley’s mother is reported to be improving, allowing the governor to return to a full work schedule.
The governor’s spokesman says 76-year-old Raj Randhawa, is now out of intensive care and recovering, although he still did not give a reason for her treatment.
“I’m happy to be able to say that Mrs. Randhawa is out of ICU and doing much better,” spokesman Rob Godfrey replied in an emailed response, “The governor, her father and their entire family are truly grateful for the outpouring of well wishes and support, her brothers and sister are also caring for their mother, and the governor will resume a normal work schedule on Thursday.”
He said the Governor’s event will be the keynote speech to the National Association of Manufacturers Board of Directors Dinner in Boca Raton, Florida.
Haley had canceled her public appearances on Tuesday and Wednesday to be with her mother at Palmetto Health Richland hospital in Columbia. The nature of her illness has not been released since she was hospitalized Monday night.
