A National Weather Service team confirmed that it was a tornado that swept through a Florence neighborhood Tuesday night with winds reaching 105 miles per hour.
The American Red Cross reports that it has been helping 42 individuals who were displaced from their homes in the Rosewood Mobile Home Park. Ten homes were destroyed and another eight were severely damaged as a result of the tornado that touched down twice.
Eight people went to the hospital with minor injuries. WYFF-4 reported that a 6-year-old girl was rescued from beneath debris.
The Red Cross provided shelter, blankets, food and personal hygiene items and financial assistance for food and clothing to those in need of assistance.
