A 32-year-old juvenile corrections officer has been arrested by the State Law Enforcement Division and charged with assault in an incident involving a Juvenile Justice inmate. According to SLED, Edward Bing III is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
The arrest warrant states that the inmate was assaulted by Bing on July 22. The warrant further states that the assault was so severe, the inmate suffered a compound fracture in his leg. SLED investigators obtained statements from witnesses to the alleged assault. If convicted, Bing could face up to 20 years in prison.
