An Upstate based bank is merging with a North Carolina bank.
North Carolina’s Forest Commercial Bank will become part of Carolina Alliance Bank which is headquartered in Spartanburg. Currently their service markets do not overlap.
Carolina Alliance began operation in 2007, while Forest Commercial began operating North Carolina in 2008. The combined company will have four banking locations about $385 million in assets. The merger is expected to close in April.
