South Carolina will get plenty of political attention Friday as two high-profile (and presidential primary maybes) are in two key parts of the state.
Vice President Joe Biden takes stage at University of South Carolina’s Colonial Life Arena to give the commencement address at 3 p.m.
Before that, he will be a guest for a private fundraiser in Columbia. Biden frequents the South Carolina coast near Charleston, one of his favorite vacation spots. He is close friends with former U.S. Senator Fritz Hollings.
Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley will be attending his daughter’s graduation from the College of Charleston that same day, then joining Democratic candidate for governor, Vincent Sheheen, at a 5:30 fundraiser in Charleston.
South Carolina is an important early presidential primary state for both Democrats and Republicans.
