Three months after the shooting at Emanuel AME Church, Charleston officials will announce Thursday how they plan to give out the money.
There is more than $2 million that the city collects for the victims and the congregation.
Mayor Joe Riley and a group of attorneys who volunteer their time on the Mother Emanuel Hope Fund said Tuesday that will discuss the final structure and formula for distributing the donated money.
It’s estimated the fund has nearly $2.4 million. Officials say about $300,000 already has been spent on funeral expenses for the nine people.
The fund was created after 21 year-old Dylann Roof opened fire killing the nine people at the church June17th.
