The State Department of Education is assembling a team to investigate why Beaufort County has been the site of half of the state’s school bus fires so far this school year. Tom Hayes has details.
Public officials in the state have to report who pays them under legislation approved by the Senate. The Senate votes 40-1 to require elected and appointed officials to disclose their sources of income. That includes the governor, members of city and county councils, school boards and many other boards. They would not have to report how much they’re paid.
